Boat Taxi “Hobbes” awaits customers.
Taxi Service is available “on demand” (weather and water level dependent).
If for some reason the direct-line (“taxi-phone”) in the Upper Lake phone booth does not work (2.5 miles of underwater cable), try your cell phone (best reception on trail above the lake). The Chalet phone number is posted in the phone booth. The minimum fee must be met in order to run a boat taxi, and it can be a combination of passengers coming to and from the Chalet. In other words, a single passenger calling from the Upper Lake may elect to wait for others to join the taxi from either end.
FEES:
$22.00 per person (pack included), ONE WAY – non-walking infants are free.
There is a four-person or $88 minimum to run a taxi.
No round-trip tickets are available
Dogs are allowed on the taxis – the rate is $8.00 per dog.
Occasionally, some folks prefer to hike to the Upper Landing and have us transport their backpacks. Such packs are twelve dollars ($15) each, and must be accompanied by a paying passenger who assumes responsibility for them.
Tours (non-stop to Upper Echo landing and return) $35.00 each, with a minimum of $105.00 per tour.
Children under thirteen (13) years of age must wear a life-jacket at all times that the boat is underway
